Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add my cameras?
Open Settings and choose Find cameras on my network to discover cameras automatically, Add by brand to pick your brand and enter the camera's address and login, or Paste a stream URL for any RTSP, HLS or HTTP stream. Use Test to check a camera before saving.
NexusView can't connect to my camera.
Check that the computer and camera are on the same network, that the username and password are the camera's own login (not your cloud account), and that RTSP is turned on in the camera's app or web page. Reolink, Tapo, Eufy, Wyze and UniFi Protect need RTSP switched on first — NexusView shows the exact steps when you pick the brand.
How do I add Arlo, Ring, Nest or Blink?
Use Add cloud camera. Those brands do not offer a direct stream, so NexusView shows their website in a signed-in pane on your wall. Sign in once and it stays signed in.
The video is delayed or choppy.
Use the camera's lower-resolution sub-stream if it offers one (the Add by brand option picks it where available), connect the camera by Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi when you can, and avoid showing more high-resolution streams than your computer and network can handle.
Does it record video?
Yes. Press Record in the toolbar (or turn it on in Settings), choose a folder, and each camera is saved to its own folder in 10-minute files. Direct cameras are saved from the stream itself. Arlo, Ring and other cloud cameras are recorded as screen captures of their tile, only while that tile is showing, because those brands don't allow other apps to access their video.
How do I put it on a TV or second monitor?
In Settings, choose the monitor, turn on Full-screen (kiosk) mode and Prevent the display from sleeping, and optionally Start when I sign in. Press F11 to toggle full screen and S for Settings.
How does my license key work?
After purchase, your license key is emailed to you. Enter it in Settings → License to keep using NexusView after your free trial. One key can be active on up to three of your computers, and it never expires. NexusView is free to try for 7 days with every feature; after day 7 it needs a license key.
How do I move my license to a new computer?
On the old computer open Settings → License → Deactivate this computer, then enter the key on the new one. If the old computer is not available, email us with your key and we will free a slot.
I didn't receive my license key email.
Check your spam folder, then email us from the address you used at checkout and we'll resend it.
How do I update the app?
Open Settings → Updates and press Check for updates. If a newer version is available, press Download to open the download page.
Windows shows a security warning when I install.
NexusView for Windows may show a SmartScreen warning, because it is a new app. See our Windows security notice for the steps to continue.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Contact us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund — see our Refund Policy. When a refund is issued, the license for that purchase is revoked.
The app shows a blank window or something else is wrong.
Email support@codecraftednexusllc.com and attach the file nexusview.log from %APPDATA%\Nexus View (Windows) or ~/Library/Application Support/Nexus View (Mac), with a description of what happened.
